I have been operating a 2006 Cessna 182T in South of France, since 2012. I sure was not ready for that, and certainly thought many times about giving up. From the beginning, money was an object, and the aircraft was purchased by a small company, whose aim was to organize the renting. The adventure allowed me to meet many people: pilots, mechanics, ATCO, airfield manager… And to travel a bit, much more than I did when I was renting aircrafts. What I had not expected is how much further from flying ownership would bring me. Taking care of an aircraft is a demanding but rewarding activity.

J’exploite un Cessna 182T de 2006 dans le Sud de la France, depuis 2012. Je n’étais certainement pas prêt pour cela, et souvent j’ai pensé jeter l’éponge. Dès le début, les finances devaient être maîtrisées, et l’avion a été acheté par une petite société destinée à organiser la location de l’appareil. Cette aventure m’a permis de rencontrer des tas de gens: pilotes, mécaniciens, contrôleurs, gérant d’aérodrome… Et aussi de voyager un peu, d’avantage que je ne l’avais fait auparavant. J’étais loin d’imaginer jusqu’où cette expérience de gérant pourrait me conduire. S’occuper d’un avion est une affaire exigeante, mais très gratifiante.
